Always delicious food - I usually find myself not being able to stop eating until I get too full. The servers have always been nice when I go in, and wait times are reasonable given the circumstances. Pricing is also reasonable. I usually carry out orders so I can't say much for the inside of the place, but it is nice.
This is the best Mexican restaurant in Madison. I had the birria pizza and fries.my wife had taco platter. OMG everything was filled with so much flavor. The beef was so tender. O had to meet the chef and thank him. I have no complaints. A must try.A must have.
This is easily the best taco spot in Madison. The pictures speak for themselves. Food is top notch and the service is always very attentive. It’s a casual sit down spot, or perfect for grabbing takeout. More authentic than your usual Tex Mex spot. The birria is the best I’ve had anywhere, but everything we’ve tried has been excellent.
We were visiting from Illinois to see my grandson who moved there. We were getting ready to go back to Illinois and needed to stop and eat, and we stopped at Zavala’s and got waited on by Vanessa. The place was so nice and clean and everyone was friendly and helpful and we will definitely go back there again when we come to Wisconsin next time. I was very impressed with their service and everything about the place.
Wow! A hidden gem that is how I will describe it. We haven't been there before, and we didn't know they existed until I google for Mexican Restaurants. What a surprise....food is fantastic. They have a small grocery section, but definitely, their business is th3 food. My wife got "empanadas " and they were good , almost perfect , just like home. I got "huarache " and be careful with this plate because you have to be extremely hungry or share with someone. It worh the try . I tested pozole, and it was good. It was flavored, salty, just the way it should be. We went back yesterday, the empanadas are so good that my wife ordered it again. I got tacos barbacoa(beef, steal, tripa) all good and delicious. Try it, you won't regret it!
I tried Zavala's a few years ago while visting Madison and I think about how good the food was all the time. Today I drove 5hrs one way to try it again, and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing!
I was craving a good taco and hear about this place at work, i order fish tacos and horchata, very flavorful, definitely be back for the food!!!
Very good. My order did come out wrong but it was so good it didn’t matter. Green chicken enchiladas were delicious and seasonings are just right. The chicken was not dry and the steak on the tacos that my husband had was also perfect.
